By Sean (Rockman Shadow)
When you start you get to choose to either place as Megaman (Rockman) or Bass (Forte). Megaman can charge his weapon while Bass can shoot in numerous directions. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
This first level can be pretty annoying especially if you’re not used to it. The ladders are a bit different because you get off as soon as you reach the end. Also an enemy’s attack will disappear as soon as it dies, so if you destroy an enemy after it fires a shot you won’t have to dodge. There are plenty of spikes that you have to slide over using the down and jump button and many of the spikes you have to be able to do the maximum slide distance to get past. Annoying. There is also a one up that is blocked off and I cannot get to. A small wall blocks you from reaching it. I shoot at the wall and it doesn’t break so I have no idea how to get the life. The life is towards the end where you face the Grey Devil.
I have no clue if the Grey Devil is the actual name for the Boss, but it is the one used most often by people so I’ll use that. You can only shoot at it when it sticks out its eye and it can turn into a ball and ram you and throw globs that you can get stuck in. To avoid getting stuck in a glob stay near it so it throws them right over you, but if you do get stuck hit the fire button rapidly to get out. After it sticks out its eye, its body turns to a ball of goo that goes across the floor to the other side. Jump over that and then run near it and shoot. The boss is pretty simple and should not be that hard to take out if you get to him. I had a more difficult time getting through the stage then facing him, but that is just me.
After you take out his life bar he blows up and a little bit afterwards. You then teleport out and talk to Rockman Shadow, I have no clue what the conversation is because I don’t speak Japanese. Actually I only beat this level with Megaman so far so I have no clue if you still get a conversation with Bass. You probably do, but I don’t know.
Then it asks you if you want to save and you now have four more RMs and you can also go instead back to the lab where you can buy stuff. Most of those items are one use only even ones that should get multiple uses out of. You pay with bolts you collect during the stage which are usually taken from enemies.
That is it for now. I’ll later target an RM give you a quick description of how to beat him. Now this is the end of part one.
Continued in part two which may or may not be out yet.
